Announcing: “State of the Movement” Survey Now Open

To build a stronger global movement on behalf of animals used for food, advocates need accurate, up-to-date global information about the resources available to nonprofits and how organizations allocate their funding by country, by animal, by intervention, and by intended outcome.

Stray Dog Institute is pleased to announce our new annual State of the Movement survey to gather this information, building upon the work of Farmed Animal Funders’ 2021 State of the Movement survey.

Who is eligible?

This survey is open to nonprofit organizations worldwide whose core purpose includes reducing, reforming, or replacing the use of animals in the food system.

The survey will be best filled out by each organization’s executive director, or another staff member with deep understanding of resource allocation and theory of change. We recommend gathering information about staff size, revenue, and expenses from the last fiscal year before starting the survey. It should take most organizations about 30 minutes to complete. We request one response per organization.

What will the survey include?

Our survey requests information about each organization’s staff size, revenue, and expenses. For expenses relevant to animals in the food system, the survey asks for further details about allocation by country, by animal, by intervention, and by intended outcome.

How long will the survey Be open?

The survey will remain open for responses through September 30th. We plan to repeat this survey annually, enabling analysis of year-on-year changes and longer-term trends.

Where Can I See the results?

A summary of this year’s survey results will be available by year end in our State of the Movement report.
